As the official ‘coffee sponsor’, Douwe Egberts South Africa will be responsible for sponsoring two prestigious award categories: ” Best TV Drama Series 2024 ” and ” Outstanding Performance 2024″.

The National Film & TV Awards SA (South Africa) is a prestigious and highly anticipated annual awards ceremony, presented by the renowned National Film Academy. The National Film Academy is known for producing some of the most significant film and television awards ceremonies worldwide. 2023 winners include comedian Celeste Ntuli, actors Abdul Khoza, Zikhona Sodlaka, Candice Modiselle, and the legendary Connie Ferguson, as well as TV presenter Zari Hassan.
For a quarter-century, the National Film Academy has stood as a beacon of excellence in the cinematic world, championing actors, actresses, producers, and the broader television and film industry. The second annual South African version of the NFTA is set to take place at the Opera Theatre, in Pretoria on the 26th of October 2024. The National Film & TV Awards South Africa will be broadcast to 15 countries, showcasing the depth and breadth of South African movies and talent to a global audience.
Douwe Egberts remains dedicated to spotlighting local talent this year. Van Niekerk notes that the significant sponsorship of the National Film & TV Awards marks the initial step in a series of initiatives supporting South African talent throughout 2024. Later this year, the company will further demonstrate its commitment with the launch of a campaign featuring the designs of four local artists.

In 1919 Douwe Egberts opened the DE headquarters, as well as the very first distillery on Catharijnekade in the city of Utrecht, Netherlands. Raw coffee bags were carried to the distillery using horse and carriage. Douwe Egberts was then launched into the South African market around 2001 bringing with it not only the heritage but also the exceptional quality coffee many South Africans have come to know and love.
